Ellwood Family | Pensacola, Florida | Military Homecoming Photographer
I have to start by saying it was such an incredible honor to photograph this homecoming for the Ellwood Family. My alarm went off at 1:30am to make the drive over to Hurlburt, and I rode with Taylor and sweet little Avery (16 months) onto the base. The flight was scheduled to land around 3:15 am and it was incredible to see all of the families gathered together in the hangar….waiting. There was quiet reflection, laughter, anticipation, tears, joy…….. It was this family’s 7th deployment; this one had been 4 months and it was Avery’s first homecoming. I can’t find the words to describe how powerful and emotional the moments before and after this family reunited were, but I do think that some of the photographs give just a small glimpse of it. These families sacrifice so much so that we all can live in freedom. Our veterans and their families should be celebrated everyday….because they do this for us everyday. Ellwood Family – thank you for letting me captured this special moment in your lives and thank you for your service!
